GRADIENT is an exploration of alpine lands - from memory and from the imagination. Following in the ouvre of the Elements series, colour morphs into natural notions of mountain ranges, icy shores and shadowy slopes. Adding details to elaborate on the story, the perspective remains ambiguous, and horizons blur. These dramatic landscapes are imagined, remembered, and forgotten places.
Working on cotton rag board with watercolour, inks, metallics and much quiet contemplation, to create environments with whimsical perspectives and horizons, and evocative, pure places.
